Located in GMU 62 with 1489.25 acres of beautiful scenery, the Escalante Forks portion of the Escalante Ranch is a perfect example of the spectacular canyon country of the Uncompahgre Plateau. Red rock canyons, sandstone bluffs, and mesa benches hold geological and paleontological resources, as well as the numerous cultural and historic sites. The Ute tribes today consider these pinyon-juniper covered lands an important connection to their ancestral past. This 1489.25 acres is part of a much larger livestock setup (Escalante Ranch) for a 1,400 cow/calf operation with BLM and NF grazing allotments. Situated in the heart of the Uncompahgre Plateau at elevations of 6200 to 7000, this scenic and private off-grid setting gives you a wilderness setting with gorgeous views of the colorful red rock walls, mountainous meadows, creeks, springs, ponds, irrigated meadows and pastures with pinyon pine, junipers, aspen pockets, cottonwoods and oaks.
