Though only about 45 minutes from world-class skiing and hiking trails of Mt Crested Butte, Gunnison has its share of outdoor recreation. Hartman Rocks just south of town is a popular area offering many trails from beginner to advanced.  There are also a number of water opportunities including fishing, rafting, and a whitewater park. Gunnison is home to Western Colorado University but also home to people of all ages including a number of cattle and horse ranchers.

For those looking for beautiful views, access to outdoor adventure, yet the conveniences of a small city Gunnison is the perfect combination. Gunnison offers a wide range of housing options from condos to extensive homes on acreage. Most homes are relatively traditional.
