January in Crested Butte
Happy 2022!

The snow gods have certainly blessed Crested Butte with the deepest of powder. Since Christmas, we’ve accumulated over 7 feet of snow and have recorded the most in the state. Our ski season is set up to be one for the record books.

Market Conditions

New listings are down 23% and under contracts are up 30%. We currently have $71.5M under contract. Months supply of inventory in Crested Butte, Skyland, and CB South is 1.6 (if no new listings come on the market, in 1.9 months, inventory would be at zero). Months supply of inventory in Mt Crested Butte is 1.1. With low inventory, we are still in a seller’s market, and I believe that will continue through 2022.

Vail Resorts Update

Crested Butte Mountain Resort, ski season is underway, and it is full of snow! The mountain just received 100 inches of snow in the past ten days. More terrain is opening up each day. It is truly a special time here in Crested Butte.

New Year, Great Savings! Lodging Discounts are available by booking by January 22. The $159/night rate can be found by searching Grand Lodge for midweek stays in January, the first half of February, and all of April.

Visitor numbers drop down significantly from now through mid-February. This is a great time to come to the Valley to avoid larger crowds and shorter lift lines. For more detail, see the Gunnison Crested Butte Travel website.
