January Happenings
Downtown Historic Walking Tours – Jan 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd & 30th. Meet at the Mountain Heritage Museum and immerse yourself in Crested Butte’s history.
Alley Loop Race Series – Jan 9th & 16th. Catch one of the 4 citizen Nordic ski races leading up to the Alley Loop Nordic Marathon.
Water Color and Wine – Jan 15th & 29th. Artist, Karen Hill, leads the town in painting the famous Crested Butte Wildflowers. Wine and spritzers are available.
Scottish Poetry + Whiskey Tasting – Jan 25th. Enjoy a flight of Scottish whiskeys and listen to professional actors perform Scottish poetry.
Lecture Series: Colorado Poet Laureate Bobby Lefebre – Jan 28th. Join this award-winning writer and performer for a stimulating discussion.
Market Conditions
New listings are flat with a 0% change and under contracts are up 44%. We currently have $77M under contract. Months supply of inventory for Crested Butte is 2.5 and for Mt Crested Butte 5.1 (if no new listing came on the market, in 2.5 or 5.1 months inventory would be at zero). Inventory continues to be low and sales will slow down in 2021 if inventory doesn’t pick up. As a Seller, now is a great time to sell. Prices are up, yet I’m also seeing Buyers use caution. Sellers can’t just throw out crazy prices and expect to get offers.
Vail Resorts Update
Crested Butte Mountain Resort is working hard to keep everyone safe on the mountain as the ski season picks up. Mount Crested Butte’s base depth has reached 33 inches. Currently, 60% of the terrain, 13 lifts, and 96 trails are open.
If you are looking to visit soon, there are various lodging discounts available such as extended stay and midweek booking deals.
If you need a break from downhill skiing, there are a number of alternative outdoor activities: dog sledding, fat biking, cross country skiing, sledding/tubing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice skating, and more.
