December in Crested Butte

With 8” of snow in the last seven days and a current snowstorm arriving today, December is shaping up to be a great ski month. Between the snowy mountains and the twinkling lights, Crested Butte is magical during the holiday season. There is no other place I would rather be. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Market Conditions

Both new listings and under-contracts are up by 38% and 50%, respectively. Months supply of inventory is at 7 for Crested Butte and 9 for Mt. Crested Butte (if no new homes came on the market, in 7 or 9 months, inventory would be at zero). I’m seeing more price reductions and a lower list to sales price; now is a great time to purchase. Rental income continues to be strong, making your mountain home a great investment.

Vail Resorts Update

The mountain operates daily from 9 AM to 4 PM. The Teocalli Lift, Rollcoaster, Tulsa, Poverty Gulch, Mineral Point, Smith Hill, and Kubler are currently in operation for the season, providing over 175 acres for skiing and riding. Stay updated on the latest lift and terrain conditions at this LINK.

Crested Butte Nordic Update

As of today, Bench Trails are now groomed and open. There is a storm brewing for the weekend. We hope it will provide enough snow to open a few more trails next week.
