In 2019 sale prices increased in all categories continuing the trend from 2018.  While prices are up, the number of sales decreased.  It is easy to blame low inventory for this drop, yet there is more at play.  In our secondary market, many second homeowners don’t have to sell and can patiently wait on their prices.  The same can be said about second-home buyers.  These buyers don’t have to purchase and can sit on the sideline to see if prices come down.

This is Vail’s second year at the helm, and although prices haven’t gone “through the roof” we have seen strong growth.  As more Epic Pass Holders visit our valley, I believe they will see the value in Crested Butte and our prices will continue to rise.  Perhaps not the 20% increases we experienced in the last few years, but a more steady and stable increase.

Regardless of what happens in our market, I hope we all can agree, spending time in Crested Butte is priceless!
