April in Crested Butte
It’s hard to believe it’s already April and the ski season is ending soon. It’s been an amazing season with almost 300 inches of snow. Big snow years not only make for great skiing, but our summer season will have much needed moisture and the wildflowers will be amazing! As you see from the picture below….we have awhile before it all melts!

Real Estate was interesting this first quarter. My First Quarter Real Estate Report shows softer sales for condo/townhomes, sales were down 44%, although that could be due to higher sale prices (up 27%) and low inventory. Single family sales were up 30% and land sale prices were up 26%. With Crested Butte prices much lower than other ski resorts, most agree the value is there. I’m expecting prices to level out (I think we tested the market and at times pushed prices too high), and our number of sales to increase. Crested Butte gets a bit sleepy in April and of course a bit muddy, yet it’s nice to be here when it’s quiet.
If you are in town, please stop by!
